High Needs School Rates

Each year Superstar has three slots open for “high needs” schools.

The criteria for high needs are:
  • A large percentage of the student population is on subsidized school lunches.
  • Your school primarily serves youth of color, a population more impacted by health disparities caused by social inequities, and historical distrust of the medical institutions.
  • Your students have never had a professional puberty or health education program.
  • Teachers have not been trained to teach puberty or sex education.

If your school meets these criteria, we offer up to half-off the program.  We are always happy to negotiate a budget that your school can afford.

If you qualify to get services at the discounted rate you are eligible for two years. If your school enters into a contract with Superstar Health Education for the discounted program we require a commitment to find full funding after two years. Your acceptance into our discount program means Superstar will continue to provide classes at the full rate starting in the third year for a period of at least two more years.

If you are unable to continue for year 3 and 4 with full funding, you are required to pay back the discount given in year 1 and 2.

Many schools begin fundraising and budget advocacy work as soon as they have been accepted into our high needs program.

Sexuality education teachers earn below average wages for the Bay Area. We encourage schools who get the discount to pay as much as they can, to ensure our educators get paid a livable wage.

Please let us know if you meet these criteria by submitting your demographic information and suggesting a rate for classes that your school could afford.

Step 1: Fill out our Booking Form
Step 2: Request a High Needs rate
