Sabine TeguraCommunity Sexuality Educator
Sabine Tegura is a Rwandan immigrant raised in the Midwest. She enjoys painting, portraiture, music, rapturous dancing, and many forms of written expression. She completed her BSW at St. Olaf College in 2012 and currently resides in Oakland, California. As a Superstar Health Educator, Sabine weaves together fun, freedom, and passion along with a deep respect for consent and trauma in order to present an optimistic and healthy vision for the children who are, even now, the embodiment of the future which we seek. She is grateful to each child and school administration for the opportunity to open this conversation about changing bodies, and expects to learn as much as she teaches. |
Rob Strawder
Community Sexuality Educator
Robert has worked with California Youth since 1990. He has worked as a counselor and Lead Counselor at Larkin Street Youth Services in SF’s Tenderloin and a Program Coordinator at Health Initiatives for Youth. His life’s journey was thrown off course in 2012, when he survived a house fire that caused 75% burns across his body and put him into a 6 week coma; when he awoke he had a new respect for the preciousness of today. This led to him working as a Burn Survivor group facilitator in 2014 with the Phoenix Society of Burn Survivors; where he continues to volunteer. He is currently in graduate school at SFSU. He brings his unique life experiences and inner city upbringing to help build up the youth he teaches. He often says “It gets better. That doesn’t mean it gets easier." |
